Meet The All-New Capsule Mini
As the post-pandemic staycation boom exploded, tens of thousands of people took to caravanning to reap the benefits of travelling with your own little self contained home from home. Industry experts predicted that the bubble would burst, but a few years on, caravanning remains more popular than ever. But many newcomers to the hobby identified that caravan design has remained the same for many years now, and crave something new and different.
Enter the Capsule Mini. This all-new concept comes from the Turkish manufacturer Umarsan, who have over 60 years’ worth of experience with fibreglass moulds. Identifying many key design issues with conventional white boxes, the Capsule offers something completely different. It’s lightweight one-piece bodyshell not only keeps water ingress at bay, but also greatly improves towing performance thanks to its amazing aerodynamics. The Capsule is towable by just about anything, and its towing performance will greatly benefit the new breed of caravanners who tow with electric vehicles.
The Capsule Mini is designed to be a step up from camping, offering comfort and space combined with an ease of set up and robust build quality. The attractive exterior design is available in four different colours. The interior styles reflect current home design trends, making the Capsule exciting, fresh and vibrant. An extensive options list allows Capsule owners to tailor the specification to suit them, whilst keeping the initial cost low. Believe it or not, the Capsule Mini retails for just £16,995 brand new!
A complete German-spec Al-ko chassis is fitted, meaning that the Capsule is easy to tow and maintain. Unlike similar rival brands, the Capsule Mini comes with shock absorbers as standard, making for the smoothest towing performance possible. Premium fittings are used, such as the solid-rubber tyre on the jockey wheel, gas-assisted handbrake lever and a 13-pin towing socket. Inside, the Capsule comes as standard with a 42L compressor fridge, stainless steel sink/hob and 12v LED lighting.
Despite its small size of just 3.8m long overall, the capsule offers 1.91m of headroom throughout, and 1.9m width on the double bed at the front. The overall width is 1.98m and overall height is 2.3m. The main attraction is the weight - just 650kgs unladen and up to 750kgs fully laden, so the Capsule Mini is towable by just about anything!
